The best learning happens when we get together to share our expertise, discuss challenges, and have some fun. We did all this and more on Friday, May 31, at our first BitConnect event.

Educators from around New York City gathered with the littleBits team in the office to hear from our CEO and Founder, Ayah Bdeir, tour our space, learn from fellow educators, and have some fun inventing.

Lesa Wang, STEAM teacher at Marymount School in New York, shared her experience incorporating littleBits into the classroom and fielded questions from those in attendance.

“The girls talk about prototyping and love explaining how sensors and circuits work; in using littleBits they are able to accumulate a vocabulary of invention,” Lesa said.

After learning more about how littleBits extends to the classroom, the group was ready to begin inventing. Educators set to work opening the Hall of Fame Bubble Bot and Arcade kits to mix it up and create a new invention. Naturally, no two were alike and creativity took hold as each guest added a personal touch to their design.

The event wrapped up with shared learnings and a commitment to stay in touch on the littleBits Forum. Attendees each left with two Hall of Fame kits and access additional littleBits course ideas for kids ages 8 and up.

We look forward to hosting BitConnect at conferences we attend throughout 2019!
