Sphero® Announces Pilot BOLT Robot Loaner Program to Further the Computer Science Education Movement Across the Nation
The Sphero Power Up Program Aims to Empower Title I Schools, Non-profits, and Other Organizations with Educational Technology

GREENVILLE, Texas, December 6, 2023 Sphero, Inc., the leader in programmable robots, computer science, and STEM education tools, announced today the launch of the Sphero BOLT Power Up Program, an initiative to allow Title I schools, non-profits, and other youth organizations to apply to borrow a Sphero BOLT® Power Pack for up to six weeks, with the hopes of reaching up to 1,500 new students throughout 2024. This pilot program is part of Sphero’s 2023-2024 CSForAll commitment to making computer science and STEM education accessible to all students.

The Sphero Power Up Program was created to level the playing field for computer science and STEM/STEAM education and to make innovative learning more accessible. Expanding access to Sphero robots, activities, and educational content gives more students, particularly those in underfunded school districts and rural or urban communities, the chance to learn computer science and STEM using tech tools.

Offering the Sphero Power Up Program, which is in test mode for 2023-2024, is a testament to Sphero's commitment to fostering inclusivity in education and ensuring that all students have access to cutting-edge technology. Title I schools, non-profits, and other organizations are often faced with limited resources, making it challenging to provide students with the latest educational advancements. The Sphero Power Up Program seeks to address this gap by empowering selected organizations with the Sphero BOLT Power Pack, a comprehensive robotics kit that sparks creativity and curiosity in learners of all ages.

"We believe in the power of education to transform lives, and the Sphero Power Up Program is our way of contributing to a more equitable and inclusive learning environment," said Paul Copioli, CEO at Sphero. "By providing several schools and non-profit organizations the opportunity to learn with a Sphero BOLT Power Pack, we hope to ignite a passion for STEM subjects and empower more students to explore the possibilities that come with this knowledge."

The Sphero BOLT Power Pack is an innovative and versatile tool designed to enhance student learning experiences in STEM and cross-curricular subjects. Featuring 15 programmable robotic balls, the BOLT Power Pack engages students in coding and robotics activities, promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. The Sphero Power Up Program aims to inspire the next generation of innovators by giving them hands-on access to state-of-the-art technology that aligns with modern educational standards.

Interested organizations can apply for the Sphero Power Up Program now through January 14, 2024. Applications will be reviewed, and selected applicants will receive a Sphero BOLT Power Pack for a six-week loan period in 2024. The program aims to reach up to 15 schools and organizations across the country, aiding in a nationwide movement towards accessible and engaging STEM education as part of the CSForAll movement.
