Teachers work with students in their classrooms using Sphero.

Dear Teachers,

First of all, Hi. We love you. We wouldn’t be here making robots and STEM kits if teachers like you hadn’t inspired us, pushed us, and encouraged us to bring enough gum for the whole class. So, thank you for that.

Secondly, now, more than ever, the value of teachers is obvious. With so many parents pulling the double duty of working from home while simultaneously playing the role of teacher for their kids, we've discovered something: we don’t deserve you.

No, really, we don’t. You’re the unsung heroes that don’t (always) wear capes. You’re the glue that holds so many communities together, especially in challenging times like these. You’re incredible, giving, talented individuals who lead and cultivate future generations of creators, and it’s to be admired and applauded.

Thirdly (wait, is that even a real word?), thank you for Sphero Edu. We built the platform back in 2018, but you have made it the thriving community full of ideas, creativity, and collaboration it is today. This is what we mean when we say #BeyondCode. Thanks to you, Sphero Edu is more than just a tool to program robots, it’s a place where teachers, parents, and learners everywhere come together to inspire each other.

Because Sphero Edu is an important resource for teachers and students, we’re always looking for ways to improve it. We regularly engage in conversations with educators, send out surveys, and visit schools around the world to discover what’s working and what needs improvement.

In fact, conversations like these led to some of the lively discussions in our regularly offered webinars. These webinars provide helpful STEAM resources and strategies on the learning and teaching topics you care about most as educators. Make sure to check out some of our recent pre-recorded webinars or sign up for our email list to be notified about upcoming ones! However, without your feedback and creativity these programs wouldn't even be possible, so thank you.

Also so many of you go above and beyond the classroom, and we notice that. Through the Sphero Educator Ambassador Programs we are able to recognize those of you who give our bots and bits a whole new perspective. Whether you are a Lead Educator or one of our trusty and hard working Sphero Heroes, we applaud you.

Teachers, you are the reason we do what we do. We realize thanking you in a blog post is an all too tiny token of our immense appreciation, but what if we thank you in a blog post AND sent you a stick of gum? We have enough for everyone this time. It’s wintergreen with little crystals.

THANK YOU and happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Love,

Sphero
